In looking at the ratings graph for the Gamehenge show, it's pretty clear that the high proportion of 1's is an attempt to manipulate the overall rating of the show and drive it down - as opposed to an honest rating of the quality of the show (and thus stay true to the ratings function providing a guide to show quality across Phish's vast catalog).

One way to handle this without disrupting the democratic nature of the ratings system is to report two ratings: "raw" - what we see now and "adjusted" - after anomalous/manipulative ratings have been removed through statistical or data analysis.
